Leadership session at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University

Recently, I had the opportunity to lead a session at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University centered around a fundamental question:

What are we really preparing our students for?

For decades, education was designed for a world of stable professions, predictable career paths, and clearly defined roles. Today, that world no longer exists in the same way. Our students are entering a reality shaped by rapid technological advancement, global interconnection, and constant transformation.

In such an environment, adaptability matters more than certainty. Curiosity matters more than memorisation. Character matters as much as competence.

During our discussion, we reflected on the evolving role of educators — not simply as transmitters of knowledge, but as mentors, facilitators, and architects of learning environments that prepare young people to think critically, act ethically, and navigate uncertainty with confidence.

The future of work is changing. Education must lead that change — not follow it.

Leadership Training led by Francesco Banchini at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University

Francesco Banchini, had the chance to speak at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University. He met with students, teachers, and future education leaders to talk about a topic — Leadership Intelligence.

During the session, they explored its key dimensions: strategic, relational, cultural, entrepreneurial, reflective, pedagogical and heuristic intelligence. Each of these plays an important role in how we lead, communicate, and work with others. In today’s education system, these intelligences help us grow soft skills, build strong relationships and navigate change with confidence. The group was engaged, curious and open to discussion.

A simple yet meaningful reminder: leadership begins with awareness, and grows through learning – together.
